Korea Rep. (South) Visa Information

 

I. Warning :
Carriers bringing in passengers without the required documents, will be fined 
KRW1,000,000.- (approx. USD 1,430.-).
Carriers may be fined an additional amount of KRW 1,000,000- in case of 
intentionally violating entry regulations.
II. Visa is required, except for :
1. Nationals of Korea Rep. (South) ;
2. Holders of a re-entry permit ;
3. Holders of diplomatic or official passports provided being nationals of Paraguay and
Philippines;
4. Nationals of Ecuador, provided holding :
- official passports, for a stay of max. 3 months ;
- diplomatic passports, travelling on duty (unlimited stay) ;
5. Nationals of the following countries provided they do not undertake activities 
remunerated in Korea Rep. nor exercise employment:
- for a stay not exceeding 90 days:
a. Austria, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica,
Dominican Rep., France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Haiti, Hungary, Liberia,
Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Peru,
Singapore, Spain, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines,
Suriname, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey;
b. Holders of British passports with on the front cover "United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Northern Ireland" or "Jersey" or "Isle of Man" ;
- for a stay not exceeding 90 days in any 6 months' period :
  Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden ;
- for a stay not exceeding 60 days :
  Italy, Lesotho and Portugal (Not applicable to residents Macao holding a Portugal
  Travel Certificate) ;
- for a stay not exceeding 30 days : 
  Tunisia ;
6. Other nationals (not list above)  for a stay of max. 15 days provided they do not 
undertake activities remuneration in Korea Rep., nor exercise employment (this 
facility will not be applied to nationals of Japan) ;
7. Hong Kong BNO & Hong Kong SAR  passport holders, Hong Kong Certificate of 
Identity holders, Hong Kong Document of Identity holders are allowed for a stay of  
max 14 days.
8. Student groups of the primary, junior or senior school and their leaders provided:
- their purpose of visit is sightseeing, friendly sports or singing a chorus;
- their stay is within 15 days;
- they hold entry permission issued at the Korean embassy by submitting member 
  lists including leader(s) name(s) in the name of the head ;
III. Transit without Visa :
Applicable only to nationals of Japan proceeding or returning within 120 hours to
any destination abroad provided :
a. Holding tickets with confirmed reservations and other documents required for their
next destination ;
b. Coming for tourist purposes only (to be stated clearly in their "Application of landing"
or E/D card) ;
c. Japan is not at the same time :
- point of origin (or intermediate stop) preceding Korea Rep.; and
- destination (or intermediate stop) after Korea Rep..
Example:
Tokyo - Seoul - Tokyo - Los Angeles is not allowed on above Transit without visa 
regulation for nationals of Japan;
d. Station manager of the airline by which passenger arrives receives prior information
indicating "Transit without visa" and connecting flight numbers and dates ;
e. Those continuing their journey to a third country on the same day, provided not leaving
the transit lounge ;
f. (applicable at Cheju International Airport only) those :
(i). Arriving directly at this airport from the station abroad in order to proceed to the
Cheju area for tourist purposes only (extension to mainland Korea is only permitted
if a prior permission is obtained from the district immigration office at Cheju)   and
(ii). Departing directly from this airport to a third country or a station of origin on a 
direct international flight within 15 days (e.g. Osaka-Cheju-Osaka is permitted)
(iii). Holding tickets with confirmed reservations and other documents for their next 
destination abroad.
III Health :
No vaccinations are required to enter Korea Rep. (South) from any country.
